Apple CarPlay®

This receiver features Apple CarPlay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone® in the car. Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, and verbally send and listen to messages with just a word or a touch. Apple CarPlay requires iPhone 5 device or newer with the latest version of iOS.

Android Auto

Android Auto is compatible with Android phones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Android Auto may not be available on all devices.

Wireless connectivity

This receiver supports a cable free connection between your smartphone and the receiver using Wi-Fi® wireless connectivity. Now compatible with both Android Auto Wireless (available on Google Pixel and Nexus devices)* and Android Auto over USB, the receiver makes it easier than ever to connect. Android Auto* makes it easier to access your favorite navigation, media and communication apps on the road while minimizing distractions. Compatibility with Apple CarPlay supports connecting to an iPhone® device using either a wireless connection or a wired USB connection. Now you no longer need to worry about taking your smartphone out of your bag or your pocket before you get into your car. Additional fees may apply.

QuickSwipe Access and Top Side Hard Buttons

Minimize distractions with the new direct access buttons located on the left side of the unit. Perform quick interactions like making calls, initiate voice actions, go to app screens, and return to the main menu in 1-click instead of 2 to 3 times more interactions. Also included physical buttons on top (Vol-, Vol+, Mute)

Hands free Bluetooth

This NEX Receiver makes hands-free phone calls simple. Pioneer’s included external microphone provides crystal clear sound. Stream music, podcasts, audiobooks, and more from your compatible phone or other Bluetooth® devices.

Split-Screen Mode

With Split-Screen mode you can simultaneously display and control both the Apple CarPlay -or Android Auto- UI and the receiver’s menu for your secondary source at the same time, on one screen. This function is useful when you want to access your music content (i.e. AM/FM Tuner or USB) while navigating through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto without having to toggle back and forth.

iDatalink Maestro

When connected to iDatalink-compatible Pioneer radios, it enhances your multimedia experience with exclusive features like gauges, vehicle information, parking assistance, climate control, and radar detection screens. Plus, it retains all the factory infotainment features you love, such as steering wheel controls, voice commands, and more.

Metra Axxess

The Metra Axxess Data Interface (sold separately) allows retaining and adjustments of your personalized features and customized menu settings through the receiver. The Metra Axxess Data Interface with plug-n-play harness allows vehicle information and customized settings to be displayed on the receiver. Interfacing with the Metra Axxess offers smart vehicle integration solutions to retain and control settings that would otherwise be lost after replacing the factory head unit, including HVAC functions, audio controls on the steering wheel, gauges, and more.

Back Up Camera Input Ready

Back Up Camera input enables you to add a rear-view camera, with the system automatically switching to a full-screen image of the rear view when the car is placed in reverse gear. The full-screen image returns to the source screen last in use when the vehicle is taken out of reverse gear.

*Rear visibility systems (backup cameras) are required under federal regulations in certain new vehicles according to a phase-in schedule that began on May 1, 2016. Owners of vehicles equipped with compliant rear visibility systems should not install or use this product in a way that alters or disables that system’s compliance with applicable regulations.
